Her Excellency Our Inlaw Proffesor Getrude Mutharika Has Answered Our Water Challenges

Hon. Maureen Namwali says she is grateful that First Lady Her Excellency Professor Gertrude Mutharika will help in drilling water for the community through Beautify Malawi Trust (BEAM) in partnership with the Muslim World League.  During her visit with BEAM and the Muslim World League at Goliati in Thyolo on Saturday, 18 February 2026, Traditional Authority Chimaliro outlined water challenges faced by Goliati Market and surrounding residents.  Mr. Twaibu Mustafa, National Coordinator of the Muslim World League, said they will work together with BEAM, which is patronised by Her Excellency, to bring clean water and make it available to the community.  Mutharika said through BEAM she will cooperate with different partners to continue with such initiatives in the area.  Hon. Maureen Namwali, MP for Thyolo-Goliati, said the gesture is appreciated and will be implemented to develop the people of Thyolo-Goliati, noting that Her Excellency is connected to the area as the President of the country hails from here.
