Matapwata Secondary School to Have a Boarding Facility to Boost Education

Thyolo-Goliati MP Hon. Maureen Namwali has stressed the need to build a hostel for both girls and boys at Matapwata Secondary School in order to boost education in the constituency.  Namwali made the request to First Lady Gertrude Mutharika at Matapwata Ground during the donation of assorted items to the elderly and persons with disabilities in the area.  “Matapwata has produced 20 students to different public universities this year. We are concerned that girls are fewer among them. Your coming is a boost, Your Excellency. Please consider a hostel at this campus,” Namwali said.  In her response, Her Excellency Mutharika promised to help construct a hostel through Beautify Malawi Trust in partnership with other organisations that will be called upon to address the issue.  Matapwata Secondary School is one of the modern schools in the district helping to boost education in the constituency.
