750 Disabled, Aged and Less Privileged People Benefit from Donation by Her Excellency Professor Gertrude Mutharika in Thyolo-Goliati
Her Excellency Professor Gertrude Mutharika has today cheered and donated food and assorted items through Beautify Malawi Trust (BEAM) in partnership with the Muslim World League at her husband President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s home area, as part of her visit to her in-laws and in thanksgiving for returning them to power.
Mutharika said she is grateful to the people of Goliati for their warm welcome and loyalty in returning them to power to rescue the country and restore it to where it was.
Her Excellency also shared more about Beautify Malawi Trust, saying Malawi has to be clean, including homes, markets, and all places surrounding people.
Hon. Maureen Namwali, MP for Thyolo-Goliati Constituency, welcomed the initiative as part of supporting the needy, including the elderly. Namwali, however, requested women empowerment through the provision of loans for women to start businesses and become self-reliant.
Namwali presented pigeons to her in-law, Her Excellency Professor Gertrude Mutharika, who welcomed the gift to fly them with His Excellency at State House. She also invited Thyolo-Goliati women to visit them at State House.
